With the help of generous partners like you, we have just achieved an extraordinary win for Idaho… the complete cessation of NuScale’s “Carbon-free” nuclear power project at Idaho National Lab. This momentous triumph is a testament to your belief in our work, the strength of our united voice, and the power of collective action. Thank you for joining us!
With your continued support, we can fight the other nuclear experiments proposed for Idaho. NuScale’s proposal significantly threatened our land, communities, and water. However, we refused to stand idly by, and instead embarked on a determined campaign with our allies in Utah and across the West to safeguard Idaho’s future.
While many nuclear projects like NuScale simply defeat themselves, our relentless advocacy certainly greased the wheels, saving time and tax-payer money. First, NuScale was forced to scale the project from 12 nuclear reactors to 6. Finally, our collective efforts (and the project’s money issues) culminated in its complete shutdown, a decision we wholeheartedly welcome.
This victory affirms the power of informed citizens, activists, and communities who join forces to protect their beloved communities and precious resources. Your commitment made all the difference, and this victory belongs to you.
While we celebrate this momentous occasion, we recognize that our work is ongoing, and we can’t do it without you. Your year-end gift will go far, fortifying the Alliance for what’s ahead.
