Heidi Henderson, Community Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator
Contact: heidi@snakeriveralliance.org
Heidi is a seventh-generation Idahoan who loves spending time outdoors whenever she can. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies from Boise State University in 2021. Although her career has taken her across the United States, Idaho has always called her home. Heidi was first introduced to Idaho’s nuclear past at the age of six through her mother, Eltona Henderson’s, advocacy for Idaho’s inclusion in the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). Since Idaho’s addition to RECA, Heidi has assisted with application workshops and presentations to help Idahoans understand eligibility requirements and navigate the application process. Her passion for the environment, science, education, and community, combined with her commitment to the well-being of all Idahoans, ultimately brought her to Snake River Alliance.
Leigh Ford, Executive Director

Leigh is a 4th generation Idahoan and loves to travel, but like a salmon, Idaho always draws her back. Both her grandfathers worked at the Idaho National Laboratory so she has deep emotional ties to the surrounding area and the water beneath it. Leigh feels strongly that she needs to do her part to help support the clean up of nuclear waste and protect it for future generations. “Water is more precious than any resource I can imagine and I intend on defending and protecting it in any way I can. I want my children to experience the beauty of our state and to always want to come home to the clean water and fresh air Idaho offers.”
