Leigh is a 4th generation Idahoan and loves to travel, but like a salmon, Idaho always draws her back. Both her grandfathers worked at the Idaho National Laboratory so she has deep emotional ties to the surrounding area and the water beneath it. Leigh feels strongly that she needs to do her part to help support the clean up of nuclear waste and protect it for future generations. “Water is more precious than any resource I can imagine and I intend on defending and protecting it in any way I can. I want my children to experience the beauty of our state and to always want to come home to the clean water and fresh air Idaho offers.”

Ian is originally from the midwest, where he spent his formative years exploring the region’s woods and waters. He fell in love with the West during his time at Colorado State University where he earned his B.S. in Natural Resource Management.

Ian has over seven years of experience in developing and executing conservation programs and building organizational and community partnerships. He’s been lucky to work all over the world and in a variety of contexts, first as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi, Africa, then for the Aldo Leopold Foundation in rural Wisconsin and most recently, for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy in New York City.

Ian moved earlier this year, leaving Brooklyn behind for Boise. He is looking forward to putting roots down in Boise and taking in all that this gem of a state has to offer with his partner (who has been singing Idaho’s praises since the day they met) and their dog. He is thrilled to be joining the Snake River Alliance team, and eager to get to work to protect Idaho’s waters and advocate for a sustainable and responsible energy future.
