ARCO, Idaho — Officials at a southeastern Idaho nuclear facility say there was no release of radiation and there’s no risk to the public following a fire.
Idaho National Laboratory officials say a small fire in a building at the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project on Friday was declared extinguished just before 9 p.m.
Authorities say it’s unclear how many workers had to be evacuated from building 676 because of the fire.
Authorities say the building wasn’t seriously damaged and air and ground samples around the building found no release of radiation.
