SUMMARY:Calling All Nuclear Abolitionists & Activists!
DESCRIPTION:Join us this “Banuary” 21st as we call attention to the United Nations Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW). \nThe International Treaty declares Nuclear Weapons Illegal and there are now 68 States Parties to the Treaty & 91 Signatories. Join us in Caldwell Park and later at EBR-1 to celebrate and bring attention to the serious threat of nuclear weapons to lives everywhere. \nTPNW march flags \nThis year we will add flags of the signatories to the TPNW to our action props and banners. The Nuclear Ban Treaty Collaborative is encouraging the use of these flags for the 2nd anniversary celebrations held nationally. Be a part of it! \nWhat the Treaty Does:\n\nThe Treaty bans the development\, testing\, production\, manufacture\, acquisition\, possession or stockpiling\, transfer\, control or receipt\, use or threat to use\, stationing or deployment of nuclear weapons in any state for any purpose.\nThe Treaty also bans assisting any state or party in any of the above prohibited activities.\nThe Treaty obligates states parties to provide medical care to victims of nuclear weapons use and testing and requires them to undertake environmental remediation of contaminated areas.\n\nRSVP if you’d like to wear a suit and hold banners. More information will be provided about how to participate. \n
