Snake River Alliance Executive Director Search Announced

The Snake River Alliance (SRA) announced today that Andrea Shipley is stepping down as Executive Director to accept another position as executive director for a human rights organization in Idaho.

In announcing the search for a new director, Lou Landry, President of the Board of Directors for the Snake River Alliance, said that the group “is seeking a dynamic leader for Idaho’s nuclear watchdog and advocate for clean energy. The new leader will direct an expert staff in Boise and Pocatello and will work closely with our board of directors.”

The Snake River Alliance works to find sustainable alternatives to nuclear power and the radioactive waste pollutants created by the nuclear industry. In announcing the resignation of Executive Director Andrea Shipley, Board President, Lou Landry, thanked Andrea “for her tireless contribution to preserving Idaho’s environment and public health.” Said Shipley, “When I came to the Alliance, my skills and training were a perfect fit for the growth the organization was embarking on. In my new role I will work with the Alliance to promote a clean energy economy in Idaho.”

The Snake River Alliance is a nonprofit organization working towards energy solutions for Idaho and dedicated to serving as Idaho’s nuclear watchdog.
