Including the Snake River Alliance in your Will

You may make a gift to the Alliance, and benefit from an unlimited federal estate tax charitable deduction, by designating a bequest in your will.

You can make a bequest in one of three ways:

Specific Bequest
You designate a specific dollar amount, percentage, or property to the Alliance.

Residuary Bequest
You direct that after all debts, taxes, expenses, and specific bequests are paid from your estate, the remaining amount is designated to the Alliance.

Contingent Bequest
You direct that the Alliance receive all or a portion of your estate only under certain circumstances, such as the prior deaths of surviving spouse, children, or other family members.

In making a bequest to the Alliance, the following language may be helpful to your attorney: “I give, devise, and bequeath to the Snake River Alliance the sum of _________ (or otherwise describe the gift or specify a percentage of the estate).”

Please let us know if you have decided to include the Alliance in your gift or estate planning so we can be aware of your generosity, keep you informed as to how your gift will be used, and give you an opportunity to tell us how best to honor your gift and your wishes.
