Please consider furthering your impact and volunteerism with the Snake River Alliance by serving on the Board of Directors! If you’re interested in making a difference in creating a sustainable energy future for Idaho, if you are interested in helping to guide an organization in its work with state and national leaders on energy policy, climate change and environmental policy, and if you want to be part of a tradition that has protected Idaho from radioactive waste for 35 years, then you could be great serving on the Alliance Board. It’s a big opportunity to develop your leadership skills with a fun group of folks committed to the land, water and people of Idaho. The Board is soliciting nominations for board membership. As a member, you can submit your name or nominate another Alliance member you think would be a good Board member. To do so click here.
Board members don’t just live in Boise. We currently have Board members from Boise, Pocatello, and Ketchum, and we seek involvement from members throughout Idaho. The Board meets monthly by conference phone call (usually lasting 1 and 1/2 hours.) In addition, twice a year we gather as a board and staff for a face-to-face meeting over a weekend. During these meetings we delve more deeply into the issues facing the organization. We have set a goal to increase the diversity of our board in a variety of areas. We are especially encouraging younger members of the Alliance community to consider board membership. We know the Alliance is best served when diverse talents contribute to our efforts.
All members of the Board serve on a committee such as membership, fundraising, nominating or board development. Board members also work as liaisons in their community for attracting new members and working with staff to host local events.
As Chairperson of the Nominating Committee I am available to answer any questions you might have about the duties and responsibilities of board members. My contact info is: Stephen Crowley, email@example.com.
Click here to link the BOD Job Description on SRA’s website. Don’t wait. Nominations will be accepted until April 6, 2015.
The Board of Directors will submit a slate of candidates for election by the members in May. We will introduce the new Board members at our Annual Meeting/Boise Community Dinner in late May.
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Alliance.
