The NW Energy Coalition is an alliance of more than 115 environmental, civic and human service organizations, progressive utilities, and businesses in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia. We promote development of renewable energy and energy efficiency, consumer protection, low-income energy assistance, and fish and wildlife restoration on the Columbia and Snake rivers.
The Idaho Energy Collaborative was active from 2008-2012 as a network of businesses and organizations that care about Idaho’s clean energy future and convene once a month to discuss Idaho energy happenings. While the Collaborative does not exist in that format anymore, the relationships built continue to help improve energy policy in Idaho.
The Alliance co-founded the IEC in 2008 with Sierra Club Idaho, and coordinated the network’s meetings, events, and communications for the first four years. This resulted in a long list of accomplishments by the group, including annual legislative events that aimed to build lasting relationships with legislators and encourage Idahoans to participate in their state’s energy decision-making processes.
