Commemoration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombings
777 South 8th Street

Please join the Snake River Alliance and the Idaho Peace Coalition on Monday, August 6 to commemorate the tragic bombings of Hiroshima (August 6, 1945) and Nagasaki (August 9, 1945). The event will begin with a peace walk from the Anne Frank Memorial to the Friendship Bridge in Julia Davis Park starting at 6 pm. We will hang peace cranes from the bridge and they will remain there through August 9. There will be an opportunity for attendees to share with each other and listen to others as we create a community space for grieving this immense historical atrocity and continuing to heal through remembering.
This event includes a walk of less than a quarter mile. Peacewalks can be slow, so please wear comfortable shoes, wear sun protection and bring water. The public is welcome to meet us at the Friendship bridge at about 6:30. All ages welcome.
